Literaturherbst in English

The Göttinger Literaturherbst is the largest literary festival in Lower Saxony and one of the largest in Germany. In around 80 events over ten days, we present a snapshot of contemporary German-language and international literature in Göttingen and the southern Lower Saxony region.

The program also always includes a distinguished academic program in cooperation with the Max Planck Institutes in Göttingen, featuring lectures from all areas of modern research.

This year’s program includes numerous events held entirely in English, as well as events with simultaneous or consecutive German translation. Here you will find a complete overview of all English-language and translated events at this year’s festival.

Can't make it to Göttingen? Selected festival events are also available online through Literaturherbst ON AIR. With an ON AIR ticket, you can watch more than 60 readings, conversations, and discussions live or access recordings afterwards.
